Investigation and innovation for a better quality of life. When the Aging and Regeneration Centre (CARE Chile UC) was created at the beginning of 2008, with the support of the Basal Financing Program for Excellence Scientific and Technological Centres, we did it with the commitment of performing a work whose last purpose was to improve the people's quality of life.

New challenge

Dr. Enrique Brandan assumes Directorate of Planning for the School of Biological Sciences

Our senior researcher and head of the Cellular Differentiation and Pathology Laboratory, Dr. Enrique Brandan, will serve as Director of Planning for the School of Biological Sciences starting January 1, 2012, replacing Professor Bernabé Santelices.

CARE Chile UC and the University of Magallanes agree upon a commitment to sign a collaboration agreement

The Center for Aging and Regeneration of the Catholic University and the University of Magallanes (UMAG) signed a letter of commitment to specify a cooperation agreement in April 2012 that will permit the planning of a series of joint activities.

Winning FONDECYT Projects

2012 FONDECYT awarded to projects by Dr. Francisca Bronfman and Dr. Nibaldo Inestrosa

Projects from senior investigators at CARE Chile UC were granted the National Scientific and Technological Development Award (FONDECYT) for next year together with Dr. Alejandra Alvarez in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology UC.
